McLean, VA – 20twenty is pleased to announced that it has developed Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) policies and procedures and has trained the staff.
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act was enacted in 1996. Title II of HIPAA, known as the Administrative Simplification (AS) provisions, requires the establishment of national standards for electronic health care transactions and national identifiers for providers, health insurance plans, and employers.
To support client initiatives such as the development and deployment of medical technology registries, that require compliance with the HIPAA standards, 20twenty has adopted a comprehensive set of policies and procedures related to privacy and security of protected health information (PHI). Based on these policies and procedures, 20twenty has established operating standards and methodologies and provided staff training to ensure that all those exposed to PHI carefully handle the information.
“Our goal as a company is to mature and be prepared to support ever-more diverse and complex needs from our clients,” said Dana Giddens, CEO for 20twenty. “We will continue to invest heavily not only in our technical capabilities, but also in our people, operations and policies.”
